Born in London while his parents were living overseas, Alexander Emmert moved to the United States as a young man. A short music career preceded his academic exploits at the University of Oregon and Harvard, after which he began a lucrative tenure as an Executive Recruiter in New York until one of his early loves in life, performing, drew him away from the corporate world.
Mr. Emmert has performed on stage and in numerous independent and studio films, as well as in television series and specials. He is a Big Four repped screenwriter and independent film producer. Emmert also served as Program Director for Encore Entertainment's Creative Theatre Group Summer Camps for Film and Theatre in 2003, prior to incorporating Invictus Films in 2004. He has directed several music videos (most recently for The Replacements/Soul Asylum/Guns N Roses bassist Tommy Stinson), and written and produced numerous historical documentaries for cable television.
Alexander Emmert wrote, produced and directed "The Judas Kiss", which was the Grande Premiere Event at the Monaco International Festival of Film; co-produced and directed "Between Us, Love", which is headlining the Urban World Festival in New York City, and was Assistant Producer and Assistant Director of "Elle: A Modern Cinderella Tale", which won Best Family Feature at the Newport Beach Films Festival. Mr. Emmert and his team have also created several renowned historical documentaries, including "The Revolution", "Rome: Rise and Fall of an Empire" and the "Rome: Engineering An Empire" special, which won two Primetime Emmys and was nominated for two others.
While continuing to develop television series and miniseries for American and European cable networks, Mr. Emmert's producing and screenwriting career have taken flight as he has expanded into the feature genres of Psychological Thriller and Horror. He works on both US coasts and in Europe, and is hopeful of expanding Invictus Films' co-productions into Asia and Australia in 2015 and beyond. He lives with his dog Raja in both Los Angeles and Philadelphia at varying times of year.
